Dr. Sanjay Gupta on CNN: Do Mobile Phones Cause Cancer?
CNN’s chief medical correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta devotes a full half hour show to his month-long investigation (reported in 2014) into the potential dangers of radiation emitted from cell phones.
Cell phones have become so closely woven into our lives we take it for granted that they are safe.
Is your cell phone safe?
Neurosurgeon, Dr. Keith Black is at odds with the most largest international study on cell phones and cancer. Their conclusion is cell phones show no danger and no link found between mobile phones and cancer. In the appendix of this study though, it shows people who used their cell phones longer than ten years showed signs of elevated Meningioma (the most common type of tumor that forms in the head/brain) and Glioma (a general term used to describe any tumor that arises from the supportive (“gluey”) tissue of the brain). Dr. Devra Davis, founder of Environmental Health Trust, has studied the results of cell phone radiation over decades. She believes cell phone cancer is a cumulative problem and that the danger is possible.
Even with years of concern and questions… and continued cell phone use by more and more… the reports and studies are still inconclusive. It helps to know that cell phones are basically two-way microwave radios that are safer not being kept or held directly on the brain or the body.
