Billion-Dollar Cell Phone Industry: American Scientists Veil
In today's era of unprecedented cell phone dependency, the question arises: Where are the American scientists when it comes to standing up against the billion-dollar cellular provider industry? As cell phones continue to dominate our lives, it's evident that cellular providers wield a monopoly that shows no signs of dissipating. In the realm of technology, cell phones reign supreme as a billion-dollar industry and the fastest-growing technology of our time. With nearly every individual on the planet owning a personal device, it's crucial to explore the mounting evidence that suggests cell phone usage might be more perilous than we care to acknowledge. At SportPort Active, we hold a proactive stance, prioritizing safety when it comes to our health and well-being.
An International Appeal from EMF Scientists Sheds Light
As of July 14, 2023, an astounding collective of 259 EMF scientists hailing from 44 different nations, along with 15 supporting scientists from 11 nations, have united in endorsing the International EMF Scientist Appeal. These distinguished scientists boast a prolific track record, having authored over 2,000 peer-reviewed papers and letters pertaining to the biological and health effects of nonionizing radiation fields. This domain encompasses extremely low-frequency fields (ELF) emitted by electrical devices, as well as radiofrequency radiation (RFR) utilized for wireless communications.
The crux of the Appeal underscores a disconcerting reality: numerous contemporary scientific studies reveal that EMF exerts influence on living organisms even at levels that fall well below the thresholds prescribed by international and national guidelines. The ramifications span a gamut of concerns, from an escalated risk of cancer and cellular stress to the rise of harmful free radicals, immune deficiencies, reproductive system anomalies, cognitive impairments, neurodegeneration, and an overall deterioration of well-being in humans. The repercussions extend beyond human boundaries, as mounting evidence links EMF exposure to adverse effects on both vegetation and wildlife.
A Resolute Plea for Action
The International EMF Scientist Appeal issues an urgent plea to influential entities such as the United Nations, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the UN Member States. It implores them to address the global health apprehensions rooted in the ubiquitous presence of cell phones, power lines, wireless devices, electrical appliances, and wireless infrastructure across residences, schools, communities, and businesses.
The reasoning behind this appeal stems from a wealth of scientific discoveries amassed by the signatories and their contemporaries. The World Health Organization is called upon to wield its clout in advocating for more robust EMF guidelines that prioritize precautionary measures and public education about associated health risks. This clarion call, driven by the eminent scientists, underscores the WHO's pivotal role in safeguarding human health, particularly the well-being of children and the trajectory of fetal development. The repercussions of inaction are clear: by shirking responsibility, the WHO fails in its venerated role as the paramount international public health custodian.
A Convergence of Global Concerns
The mounting support for this cause reinforces the potency of the evidence. The U.N. Environment Program finds itself under increasing pressure to shield both nature and humankind from the encroaching evidence of electromagnetic fields (EMF). The rapid densification of 4G and 5G antennas presents an escalating health hazard that transcends borders, constituting a global crisis. As these antennas proliferate within residential neighborhoods, emitting higher frequencies and biologically disruptive pulsations, the urgency to reassess their potential ramifications for plants, animals, and humans becomes paramount.
The Catalyst for Change
The advisors to the International EMF Scientist Appeal, who are based in New York and represent 248 scientists from 42 nations, have resubmitted their plea to the Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Inger Andersen. Their call is for a comprehensive reassessment of the biological implications tied to next-generation telecommunication technologies like 4G and 5G. The resonance of their message reverberates with concern, especially as these new antennas stand poised to infiltrate residential landscapes, bringing with them higher frequencies, disruptive signaling characteristics, and transmitting equipment positioned both within homes and buildings.
The Wisdom of Independent Inquiry
The advisors insist that the findings of independent, non-industry-associated EMF research should bear substantial weight in the UNEP's considerations. This proposition aligns with the legacy of the late Dr. Martin Blank, 1933-2018, (a man who emanated goodness) of Columbia University, a fervent spokesperson for the Appeal, who curated a range of resources, including, videos, letter to the UNEP and The Appeal itself. The Advisors to the International EMF Scientist Appeal - Annie Sasco, MD, Dr.PH., Henry Lai, Ph.D., Joel Moskowitz, Ph.D., Ronald Melnick, Ph.D. and Magda Havas, Ph.D., call on the UNEP to be a strong voice for the total environment of the planet, and an effective catalyst within the United Nations with regards to the biological and health effects of electromagnetic pollution.
A Call for Consistency and Leadership
The spotlights a disconcerting discord within the World Health Organization. While the organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer classified radiofrequency radiation as a "Possible Carcinogen" (Group 2B) in 2011, and likewise classified extremely low-frequency fields in 2001, the WHO persists in disregarding its own agency's counsel. Instead, it lends credence to guidelines set forth by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP), a German non-governmental organization with industry ties that has long attracted criticism for endorsing standards that don't adequately shield humans and assuming an unmerited mantle of authority. Pertinently, no nation has yet established EMF exposure guidelines aimed at safeguarding vegetation and wildlife.
The Imperative for United Action
The Appeal resonates with a clarion call directed at the United Nations itself. It beseeches the organization to reconcile the incongruities that persist among its various sub-organizations and to address, with utmost seriousness, the escalating health and environmental calamity exacerbated by human-generated EMF pollution. The present juncture demands resolute leadership, particularly considering the ominous warnings sounded by international scientists concerning 4G/5G antenna densification, the burgeoning Internet of Things (IoT), and the imminent release of substantial radiation from the vast array of satellites currently being launched into space.
Forging a Path Ahead
As we bring the curtain down on this inaugural series, rumbling imperative develops – a call for united action resonating through the corridors of the United Nations itself. Reverberation of The Appeal surpass mere words; they encourage the organization to bridge the gaps persisting among its diverse sub-entities. This stately call carries the weight of urgency, pleading the UN to squarely confront the escalating health and environmental crisis triggered by human-driven EMF pollution.
At this pivotal juncture, the mandate for decisive leadership gains unprecedented prominence. It stands as a testament to the collective clarion call from international scientists, echoing warnings about the impending perils of 4G/5G antenna densification, the expansive Internet of Things (IoT), and the imminent surge of radiation from the vast fleet of satellites that populate the celestial expanse. As we move forward, the journey continues, fueled by a shared commitment to shield our world from the uncharted waters of EMF pollution. In the second part of our series; recognizing the prolific gap between the medical field and EMF education. Scientists are taking a stance to close the gap in The Appeal.
